Shelter owner arrested for neglect. The owner of Dogs Rock Rescue in Georgia has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated animal neglect. Roughly 200 dogs were found to be kept in unfavorable and abusive conditions after police and 11 other agencies executed a search warrant. The rescued dogs are currently being treated by medical teams and will soon be up for fostering and adoption.

Respiratory illness spreading through Raleigh. Veterinarians are warning pet parents about a mysterious illness affecting multiple dogs. While the illness hasn’t been identified it appears that antibiotics do clear it up. Although most dogs have required multiple rounds. Owners are encouraged to seek veterinary care if their dog exhibits any symptoms and avoid interacting with other dogs. Symptoms include a prolonged cough, runny nose, fever, and congestion.

Family dog discovers breast cancer. Brody, a rescued Newfoundland, recently helped his owner with a cancer diagnosis. After he became very interested in her right armpit, repeatedly sniffing and nuzzling the area, she decided to do a self-check and discovered a lump. Her doctor diagnosed her with breast cancer and immediately started her on treatment. Brody is being praised for potentially saving her life!

Fit owners have fit dogs. A recent study has found tha t humans that regularly exercise are more likely to have fit dogs. And humans that exercise their dogs for less than 30 minutes a day are also less likely to exercise. That connection may seem obvious but the study also finds that owners of overweight dogs are more likely to restrict their food rather than increase activity. While reducing calories may help, an active lifestyle and regular exe rcise are vital to yo ur dog's overall health.

Comfort dogs return to Uvalde. 4 months after the devastating Uvalde school shooting students are returning for classes and so are comfort dogs. These dogs were present in the days following the incident to offer support and now they’re back! 10 specially trained dogs from Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry will spend the first 3 weeks of classes across 8 sc hools to offer comfort and support to students dealing with the stress of the situation.

Drug dog makes major bust. A drug-sniffing dog recently alerted to a passenger’s wheelchair in a Milan airport in an effort to crack down on trafficking in the area. After inspecting the man's luggage with no luck the security officers slashed the chair upholstery making a surprising discovery. Roughly 30lbs of cocaine was discovered inside the chair. After the discovery, the wheelchair-bound person got up to be cuffed and walked without issue.
