Tiktok famous dog passes away. Noodle, the celebrity pug , has died at the age of 14, his owner Johnathan announced on the platform. Noodle was best known for predicting whether or not his over 4.5 million followers would have a “bones” or “no bones” day. A bones day meant to get out and seize the day, a no bones day meant to take it easy and rest.
Dog flu on the rise. A recent outbreak of dog flu has many pet parents concerned for their pet’s health. While generally not life-threatening, dogs with compromised immune systems may be at higher risk. The flu is spread where dogs come together in groups like daycares and dog parks. Symptoms include fever, runny nose, cough, and lack of energy/appetite. If your dog exhibits symptoms be sure to isolate them from other dogs to prevent the spread.
Reckless driver has 4 legs. Police in Texas have apprehended a reckless driver that recently hit 2 cars in a Walmart parking lot. Witnesses called the police who discovered that an unattended dog was in the driver’s seat. It’s believed the dog became restless waiting for his owner and accidentally released the parking brake, rolling the vehicle into other cars. Nobody was injured or cited in the accident.
Daycare owner arrested after lying about pet’s death. Two pet parents are seeking justice after returning from vacation to find one of their dogs missing from a Tennessee boarding facility. The facility owner lied and said the dog got loose and was lost, in reality, the dog had passed from unknown causes. The business owner says he panicked, fearing it would hurt his business, and dumped the remains on a country road. He has been charged with theft of property after failing to return the dog to the owners.
Dog loses lung from fungal infection. Mocha, a black lab, recently st arted displaying cold-like symptoms that never seemed to improve. It took 3 vets to finally diagnose him with a fungal infection, blastomycosis, in his lungs. The state of his condition left him with 2 options, euthanasia or removing one lung. His parents opted for surgery and he is recovering. Blastomycosis is the result of inhaling mold spores, usually found in the dirt in wet areas. It is very treatable with early diagnosis.
Man shot by his dog. A Turkish man was shot by his dog while preparing for a hunting trip recently. While loading the car his dog jumped inside accidentally discharging his shotgun into his stomach. Unfortunately, the man died before medical help could arrive. His human hunting companion was investigated before concluding it was a tragic accident.
