Legal Action Against Purina's 'Natural' Pet Food.
A lawsuit against Purina Petcare Company in New York alleges that the company misleadingly markets its pet foods as "natural" while containing multiple synthetic ingredients. The court documents reveal examples of synthetic ingredients present in their products, including zinc sulfate and calcium pantothenate. This legal action could potentially impact pet owners who believed in Purina's "natural" claims and expected a product free from synthetic ingredients. The case highlights continued concerns about transparency in pet food labeling and how companies use marketing language that may mislead consumers

Research Eases Fears Over Grain-Free Dog Diets.
A recent seven-month study revealed that grain-free diets do not harm canine heart health or lead to dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Conducted by veterinarians and animal nutritionists from BSM Partners and veterinary cardiologists, the study involved formulating four distinct canine diets with varying ingredients and protein content. None of the sixty-five dogs fed these diets showed signs of cardiac dysfunction or developed DCM, dispelling concerns about grain-free diets. While the study did not identify dietary correlations to DCM, it emphasizes the need for continued peer-reviewed controlled studies to better understand cardiac function and DCM development. These findings offer valuable insights into the ongoing debate about the effects of grain-free diets on canine health.
UK's Largest Dog Thriving on a Raw Diet.
Abu, a two-year-old Turkish Malakli, is believed to be the UK's largest dog, towering over Great Danes. Standing at 7 feet 2 inches on his hind legs and weighing 396 pounds, Abu devours an impressive 6.6 pounds of meat daily , which includes a whole chicken, three whole mackerel, raw fresh meat, and two eggs, costing Dylan around £4,000 per year ($5,280). Despite his giant size, Abu believes he's a lap dog and adores cuddling with Dylan's children. The "gentle giant" is still growing and expected to pack on a few more pounds.
