What The USDA Condemns, The FDA Allows.
Recent USDA data reveals over 31 million pounds of condemned animals in Q1 2024. While the USDA deems them unsafe, the FDA allows their use in pet food, claiming they pose no safety concerns. Unlike the USDA's past requirement for pet food meats to be sourced from inspected animals, the FDA allows the use of diseased and non-slaughtered animals without disclosure on pet food labels. Despite petitions for transparency, the FDA has yet to respond, leaving pet owners uninformed about the quality of ingredients in their pets' food.

Exploring the Rise of Cloning Services.
Pet owners are turning to cloning technology to replicate their beloved animals. Companies like ViaGen Pets & Equine offer services to duplicate dogs and cats after preserving their biological information and storing cells until cloning is desired. The process involves taking cryo-preserved cells and placing them into a surrogate mother. However, cloned pets may not be genetically identical and can still inherit health issues. It costs upwards of $50,000 to clone a dog or cat and $85,000 for a horse. Would you consider cloning your soul dog?
