A Presidential Dog's Farewell. Commander, President Biden's German shepherd, has checked out of the White House due to some "ruff" encounters with staff and Secret Service. Elizabeth Alexander, the first lady's spokeswoman, confirmed that Commander is no longer sharing quarters with the first family. However, the dog's current whereabouts and anticipated return date to the White House remain undisclosed. This move comes after the earlier removal of Major, another one of the president's dogs, who was also implicated in a biting incident with a White House staff member. It seems the first dog’s had a different idea of what "secret service" means.

Florida's New Inclusive Dog Ownership Law. Starting October 1st, Florida is rolling out a new law that's great news for dog owners! This new law stops local governments from banning specific breeds like pit bulls, focusing more on safety and less on breed labels. Previously, there were restrictions based on size and weight for safety reasons, and now these criteria are treated equally. While public housing authorities can still set dog-related rules, the law promotes fairness by not singling out particular breeds, sizes, or weights. It's a practical and positive change for Florida's dog-loving communities!
